How many gold fish and other fish around the same size can you have in a 50 gallon tank?

You shouldn’t keep anything with goldfish but goldfish. Goldfish get big and require big tanks. Do your research next time before getting fish.

the rule of thumb is 1 inch of fish for every gallon your tank is, but with goldfish, since they produce a lot of waste, you might not want to get very many. So if your goldfish will be five inches in size then it needs to be in at least a 5 gallon tank. basically

The recomendation is 1inch of fish per gallon of tank. take into consideration their adult size not the size they are when you buy them.
for instance if your gold reaches 3 in in adult size you could have 16 of them in tank theoretically. also keep in mind fish habits because golds are very messy.

role of thumb is 1 gallon of water for every 1 inch of fish.
so if you have 50 1 inch fish you need 50 gallons of water

The above answer was close. It’s really “one inch of fish for every gallon of water.” Should be less with Goldfish. Depending on mature size, you can get 25 or so more fish. Have fun.

goldfis are coldwater fish, and shuld only go with other goldwater fish, to most people that usually just means other goldfish.
what is the other kind of goldfish you have? the ‘regular’ ones get way too big for a 50 and will out-compete the black moore for food.
a loach for clean up is redundant ina goldfish tank and will just contribute more to the dirtying of the tank. goldfish eat stuff off the bottom in nature… that’s what you have the loach for… you are just feeding one more **** machine to clean up after.
2-3 facny goldifsh (the fat ones with 2 tails) will be about all you can keep in a 55 when fully grown

You should really only have goldfish in that tank, along with a good filter and oxygen pump. generally, the rule is about 1 gallon to every inch of goldfish, so a two inch goldfish fits in a two gallon tank. go to your local pet store and ask about it. goldfish are generally docile creatures, but my last one attacked the other goldfish and killed it. Try introducing the fish slowly so that everything can get used to each other first: it would be like you being an only child, then your parents adopting 10 brothers and sisters, and they had to stay in your room with you. Good luck in your goldfish endeavors.

A lot of good info a lot of bad info. The 1″ rule per gallon was designed for noninformed fish store clerks to judge fish. It is false. for example 5 guppies can live happily in 1 gallon of water where as 5 1″ gold fish or salmon cannot.
It is with regards to each fish. Goldfish do well in well filtered tank.
Right now I would go with another loach, perhaps 6-10 Zebra or pearl Danio or 5 of each
a Buenos Aires Tetra, bloodfin tetras
You still have pleanty of room for even 4 more fancy gold fish.
The key to goldfish and cold water fish is that they have good water, lots of dissolved oxygen and enough food.
Goldfish need a varied diet not just pellets and flakes. Pellet also should not be fed to tank fish.

The reason goldfish are thought to be “dirty” is due to they do not have stomachs, there fore what they eat come out. Very little at a time is removed by their digestive sytems. Feeding them a varied diet including fresh veggies and fruits like oranges is great all the way around.
You have a few choices here with fish. If you want variety, I would go with a school of danios, 3-4 tetras and maybe another black moore.
