cmks253 asked: We have stray cats in our neighborhood wandering around. Some of them have been captured and neutered or spayed and returned. What kind of shelter can I build for them to help them stay warm?

cali asked: I know that cats can suffocate a baby without realizing that they are doing harm, but all 3 cats just stroll around and watch our son. Occasionally they might walk up when we are holding him and smell of his feet or something but that’s it. Even after we explained this, the pediatrician still had problems with there being cats in the house.
BTW, the cats are not allowed into our room where the crib is at.

Carolyn M asked: I have six dogs at my house, 2 neutered males, 2 spayed females, and 2 5-month old male puppies. In the last two weeks, the two females have been getting into horrible fights, usually with one or both winding up with cuts and scrapes. The smaller female is picking the fights, with obvious bad outcomes for her. How do I get them to stop? I am worried it will happen when we aren’t looking and one will wind up dead.

Doogle asked: We’ve got two dogs, one is about 25 pounds, one is about 50 pounds. The 25 pound kind of gets beat up by our 50 pound dog. He constantly runs into the 25 pounder and they never play like they did in a neutral place.
Any ideas as to increase their playful relationship OR at least not have him run over her all the time would be great.
Thanks!!!

renodogmom asked: Most of the questions seem as if they are asked by 9 year olds. If this is indeed the case, I will endeavor to soften some of my harsher responses to some of the questions. Really, after having spent the better part of 12 years learning everything I can about dogs and behavior, some of the questions seem like they shouldn’t have to be asked. yet they are?
Why?
If they are really that ignorant (especially people wanting to breed, or asking how to stop their dog’s bleeding) doesn’t that scare you about the future of our world?
I am old enough to be the mother and Grandmother of most of the people who ask the silly questions. By silly questions I refer to some like these:
My dog is bleeding, what do I do?
My Pitbull was bred by a mutt. Does this mean every puppy she ever has will be a mutt, too?
What should I name my yorkicavibichipoo?
Is my labrgoldenschnauzerdoodle a mutt or can I register her?
What kind of dog is this? (no pictures included)
Variations on My dog is sick.
If your dog is really sick, take the dog to the vet!!! (rant over)
My question has nothing to do with 9 year olds. It was referring to scary ignorant questions asked by people who should know better. Or questions asked here that should be asked of one’s personal veterinarian.
Intelligent questions from 9 year olds who truly want to learn are always welcome. I’d just worry about the accuracy of the advice given.
And another ridiculous question:
Is is possible to get my dog’s stomach tight again after she’s had her first litter of puppies?
Those are the silly questions I refer to.

natagurl asked: i just read an article on pet food and what it contains. most of the pet foods contain road kill animals, or eutanized animals (cats and dogs including) or meat that has gone bad and was claimed unfit for human consumption so i am curious to know what pet food is alright for animals?
where i live we only have IAMS (which i am strongly against cuz of their animal cruelty), PURINA -pedigree, ALPO and BONNIE.
out of all of these is and safe for my dogs? i do not want to feed them anything that might harm them.

Sasha asked: I have to declare a major by spring time and I decided on becoming a vet. What do undergrads typically major in when they plan on attending Vet school?
guys, pre-vet just like pre-med, pre-pharm etc. is not a major it’s just a path you are headed in…

= ^_^ = asked: From what I’ve seen, small children tear up a lot more than pets. Pets don’t have crayons, paints, markers, or hands with which to throw their food. They also seem to be easier to potty train than children.
Oh, and before you mention fleas, let me remind you that children bring home LICE, which are not only harder to get rid of than fleas, but will also take up residence in human hair.
Lol, great point, vegansforever! Maybe children should be limited to children’s stores since pets are limited to pet supply stores?
